Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined individual to join our Special Hazards division as a Technician Apprentice. This is an entry-level role designed for someone eager to learn the trade through on-the-job training while working alongside an experienced Lead Technician as part of a two-person crew.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Lead Technician in the installation of special hazard suppression systems.
  • Begin as a laborer with a clear path toward certification and technical proficiency.
  • Learn to work with piping systems: cutting, threading, fitting, and assembling.
  • Utilize and eventually master tools such as the Rigid 300 pipe threading machine.
  • Install clean agent cylinders including CO2, FM-200, and other clean agents.
  • Follow all safety protocols while working on ladders and in elevated areas.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Receive and apply direction from the Lead Technician on daily tasks.
  • Commit to progressing toward a Certificate of Competency in the field.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Mechanically inclined with interest in skilled trades.
  • Comfortable working at heights and on ladders.
  • Ability to carry and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
  • Prior experience with mechanical tools and equipment is a plus, especially with pipe threading machines.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.
Preferred Experience (not required):
  • Exposure to fire protection or mechanical trades.
  • Familiarity with Ridgid 300 threading machines or similar equipment.
