Compensation: $24.00-$42.00/hr.

Position Summary

The Kitchen Suppression Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining kitchen fire suppression systems, portable fire extinguishers, and emergency lighting systems at customer sites. This is a field-based role requiring travel to client locations to ensure all systems are compliant with NFPA standards and safety regulations.

The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to work independently. On-the-job training and factory certification will be provided to prepare for required licensing exams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, and service kitchen fire suppression systems and portable fire extinguishers in accordance with NFPA standards.

  • Install new extinguishers and replace outdated or non-compliant units.

  • Inspect and test emergency exit lighting systems and pre-engineered kitchen suppression systems.

  • Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of kitchen suppression systems as needed.

  • Schedule inspection and service appointments directly with customers.

  • Complete and submit accurate electronic inspection reports and documentation.

  • Ensure all work complies with applicable safety standards, NFPA codes, and FEI policies.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and company vehicle.

  • Communicate effectively with customers, providing clear service explanations and recommendations.

  • Represent FEI with professionalism, reliability, and strong customer focus.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record required.

  • OSHA 10 Certification required upon hire.

  • Ability and willingness to learn suppression system maintenance and pursue additional certifications.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
