Position Summary
The Business Development Manager (BDM) oversees a team of four Business Development Representatives / Appointment Setters responsible for outbound calling, lead generation, and appointment scheduling. This role ensures that the team follows a structured, disciplined outreach process and consistently meets established KPIs for call activity, quality, and conversions.
The BDM plays a critical role in driving FEI’s growth initiatives by implementing effective outbound strategies, coaching the team, managing performance metrics, refining scripts, and ensuring all CRM activity is accurate and optimized. The ideal candidate is organized, data-driven, experienced in CRM systems, and excels at developing high-performing outbound sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and supervise a team of four BD Representatives / Appointment Setters.
• Set and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs for calls, talk time, conversations, and appointments.
• Enforce a structured workflow that includes organized calling blocks, follow-ups, appointment confirmations, and consistent CRM updates.
• Provide daily coaching, feedback, call reviews, and objection-handling development.
• Create, update, and refine scripts, talk tracks, and outreach messaging aligned with FEI’s brand and service offerings.
• Distribute call lists, prioritize outbound targets, and monitor lead assignments.
• Ensure complete and accurate data entry within Salesforce or HubSpot, including dispositions, notes, and follow-up tasks.
• Conduct daily huddles and end-of-day reviews to maintain accountability and performance discipline.
• Build and manage KPI dashboards and scorecards to track activity, quality, and conversions.
• Prepare weekly and monthly performance summaries for FEI leadership.
• Analyze outreach trends, performance gaps, and conversion rates to identify areas for improvement.
• Support onboarding, training, and ongoing development for BD team members.
• Foster a positive, motivating, and performance-driven team culture grounded in structure and accountability.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or 5+ years equivalent experience in outbound sales, business development, or call center management.
• 5+ years of experience leading SDRs, BDRs, or appointment setting teams.
• Demonstrated success hitting KPIs and driving metrics-based performance.
• Strong experience with Salesforce or HubSpot CRM (dashboards, tasks, reporting).
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 including Teams, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Skilled coach with the ability to develop scripts, improve objection handling, and elevate call quality.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret KPIs, conversion rates, and activity reports.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills with the ability to enforce structure and accountability.
• Experience in service-based, field-service, or fire protection industry sales a plus (not required).
Compensation & Benefits
• $90,000-$150,000-Competitive salary with performance-based bonuses or commissions.
